PUTT CRAFT: How to begin

by Reid Nelson

Welcome!

We are 57 events in but don’t let that intimidate you, this is the perfect time to begin your Putt Craft journey. Why? Well, anytime is the perfect time to begin but now is the start of our fourth season. A fresh start, a new beginning, a chance to get your “Rookie of the Year” campaign off to a good start. Yes, that’s real, we do that.

Here are some frequent questions we get:

Q: I can’t commit to every tournament, is that ok?

A: Yes, it’s more than ok. Come to all, come to some, come to one. Kameron Haselius is our current event streak record holder with 33 consecutive events and running.

Q: Can I bring my kids?

A: Yep, we accept all ages and will pair them up with you (depending on their age) for their first few events. Generally speaking a good barometer for “how old do they have to be is “can they keep their own score”.

Q: I’m not very good, is that ok?

A: On August 14th, 2023, Kameron Haselius (yes, him again) finished in last place in a 15 person tournament in Coon Rapids, 40 strokes off the lead. On November 11th, 89 days later, Haselius took the reigning ‘Player of the Year’, Matt Roalstad to extra holes and secured his first ‘Open’ victory. Yes, that is true, we have several witnesses, and video.

Q: Can I bring my own putter?

A: Ask Shawn Brown if his custom Scotty Cameron is the reason he’s won nearly 20 events. Yes, you can.

Q: I have other questions, where should I send them?

A: Send them to info@puttcraft.com and we will get right back to you.

Q: Where can I register?

A: Right here.
